“Ford v Ferrari” Review

…it’s good! I don’t really know what more I can say about it, as everything here is pretty much exactly what you would expect. Still, even when it’s hitting the same underdog story beats we’ve seen countless times, it’s all told with such an overwhelming sense of heart and talent both in front of and behind the camera that it makes for a really great ride. You’re basically paying the ticket here for two things — the cast and the racing scenes — and the movie more than delivers on both fronts. Matt Damon and Christian Bale couldn’t look like they’re having more fun, and the racing scenes have a rawness to them that feels visceral and intense in the best way possible. I don’t know if it’s because I saw it in Dolby, but the movie is loud, which definitely enhances the driving in addition to some terrific sound editing.

So, yeah, go see it! I’m not sure if it’s worth racing out to the theater, but it’s definitely worth a watch if you’re interested.
